The word JOY holds a lot of meaning to me in various forms and memories. It was also the name of my grandma who always brought us, her grandchildren as much joy as she could. I always admired how neat she looked even during her arduous gardening work. When she passed I didn't believe she had as it was one of the first deaths I had experienced within our family as a young child. This piece is dedicated to her and what the word brings; warmth, comfort, happiness.
I applied the word 'JOY' using needle and thread as sewing and working with my hands is also a strong part of my upbringing and fondness of fashion, my grandma alway used to look perfectly well dressed.
