This acrylic painting bursts with intense, luminous colour, bringing a reef floor to life in all its vibrant energy. Fluoro hues and fine, detailed brushwork shape an array of corals, capturing their natural forms while embracing an exuberant, almost dreamlike and psychedelic quality.

Painted over a pre-existing sunset gradient I had lying around, the composition evolved intuitively, transforming the canvas into a lively underwater landscape. As my first exploration of coral, this piece became a study in refining detail and layering, pushing me toward a more polished and dimensional style.

Inspired further by a visit to a Ken Done exhibition, it affirmed my instinct for bold, unapologetic colour—because we could all use a little more of it.
