As the sun rises it's fierce glow echo's over the rhythmic ocean.
I wanted to create a simplified version of the sun over the ocean turning each object into a basic form of shapes and lines. I also wanted a stark contrast between the radiant sky and dark ocean using bright, rich orange for the sun, peaches and pinks for the sky and dark indigo blue for the swirling ripples of the sea.

Painting the dark lines of the sea was a bit of challenge, more so in the time consuming task but slow and steady with a large cup of patience is what got it finished.
The gradient was also a tricky section to ensure the transition of the colours were gradual. I think it was the second layer I got it right…the first was a bit questionable! But like most artworks, you have to push through the frustrating and trialling stage to reach the end results of satisfaction.
